On the occasion of Simon Rattle’s 70th birthday (January 19), Warner Classics will release a digital-only collection of his most iconic recordings for EMI and Warner Classics. Spanning forty years of recording career, this 100-track compilation includes excerpts of the most famous performances, from the Nutcracker to Barber’s Adagio, the Beethoven symphonies and the Rite of Spring. It highlights Rattle’s famous collaborations with the Berliner Philharmoniker and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and features such soloists as Sarah Chang, Renaud Capuçon, Lars Vogt or Emmanuel Pahud.
