…for Decca’s Ernest Ansermet box, all his stereo recordings, occupying eighty-eight CDs, originally scheduled for release on April 29 is now not coming until the end of the year – I don’t know why although the above image suggests that production is done – and that in turn will presumably delay the planned “Uncle Ernie” mono box. Ansermet’s LPs (in reissue form) were a large part of my formative listening years and made a huge (and continuing) impression: Debussy, Haydn, Honegger, Ravel, Sibelius, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, and so much more…
