The post announcing that Yunchan Lim had taken the Cliburn Gold Medal included a video link to the Rachmaninov that had faint sound. I subsequently added the pianist’s other Concerto for the Finals, Beethoven 3… http://www.colinscolumn.com/winner-of-the-2022-cliburn-yunchan-lim-also-played-beethovens-piano-concerto-no-3-in-the-final-marin-alsop-conducting-the-fort-worth-symphony-june-18/ … and said I would search for a better-sounding Rachmaninov. Achieved here. Do read Bob Matthew-Walker’s comment left on the Beethoven post. Like him I am circulating the Rachmaninov to pianists and conductors of my acquaintance, even Stephen Hough despite him being there on the Jury.
