2 o’clock Sunday morning: “fall back” – the UK may have just gained an hour but now we’ll be suffering from depressing getting-darker-earlier evenings.

It is because farmers and agricultural workers at last have some relief from the early hours of gloom and those who drive to work spend less time in the dark. As for losing an hour in the evening – well it is so dreary in late afternoon anyway that it does not matter.
