People get re-hired all the time. Marshalling public sentiment is a highly effective form of social action and has a well documented history in western countries of bringing about social change. If you don’t wanna sign it, you don’t have to, but no one’s making you sign it. But your ignorance cannot be allowed to dissuade other folks from using their voices to engage in the public discourse and pursue social action. I’m not quite sure where you got the idea that someone gets fired and there’s some kind of rule that means that can’t be changed, but it’s our job to educate ourselvesa very small amount of research on your part would very quickly show you how effective things like petitions, boycott, protest, etc. have all been in creating change in western countries particularly the UK and the USA. sorry that your experience is so limited that you’re not aware of this. Especially since the decision to fire, Tom seems to be financially based, and all that the public needs to demonstrate is that the cost of much higher if they don’t keeping him than it is

Sir Tom Jones isn’t just another judge on The Voice — the man is a British music institution. He and will.i.am were the only two remaining members of the ORIGINAL coaching panel from when the show began back in 2012, and now Sir Tom has been shown the door despite making it perfectly clear that he DID NOT want to leave.
At 86 years old he’s still performing, still touring, still sharp as a tack and, most importantly, he brings something to that panel that you simply cannot manufacture — over SIX DECADES of genuine experience at the very top of the music industry.
The Voice is supposed to be about recognising great singers. If there is anybody qualified to sit in one of those chairs and judge a VOICE, surely it’s bloody Tom Jones?!

Tom Jones maybe 86 but he can still sing and still has a powerful voice. The audience and other judges love it when he sings on the show. I can’t stand listening to Cheryl Cole’s voice so probably won’t watch the show anymore. Many performers work in their later years Cliff Richard being one of them but he no longer has the magnetism that Tom Jones has. Toms concerts are fantastic. ITV should reconsider but probably wont swallow their pride and admit they were wrong.
I belive this has happened either because some new ‘bright young thing’ has been put inadvisably into a management role and is trying to make their
mark in their their media career by being the one who ‘sacked Sir Tom Jones’ (in much the same way Steve Wright was given the ‘bums rush’ that I believe contributed to his premature death), or it is a fatal error of judgenent by the ‘management’ who should know better. One way or another it is no way treat anyone , no matter what their age and especiallysomeone with the stature, talent and quallity of Sir Tom, which should absolutely be cherished while we can. BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT BY ADMIN IN THIS CASE. The decision makers should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. In common with many others, unless Tom is reinstated with a profound apology or the formatt is picked-up by a more intelligent and profesional production company, I too will now boycott the show. Such a shame for all the other judges and the talented contestants.
