No character in cinema history has a more instantly recognisable theme tune, or has inspired more classic pop songs, than James Bond. Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra in a musical homage to Ian Fleming’s suave spy. Together with special guests, they train their sights on the greatest hits from Skyfall, The Spy Who Loved Me and others, promising to leave you stirred, not shaken.

Matt Munro, Dame Shirley, even Sheena,Tina etc…. the replacement singers, in general, were awful..
Pity.. great concept.
I disagree. Some were less than i expected. But Naomi Banks for example was superb. The male vocalists have a bug disadvantage imo. I thought this was a great concert overall.
.
The BBC introduction using Nick Mohammed as a pusedo James Bond was naff and, for me, the humour fell flat and was a distraction whilst waiting for the concert to start.
Perhaps that intro put me off and maybe ai wasn’t in the right mood but I listened/watched the first four numbers.
Felt that the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra did a much more appropriate mood performance last year in Poole.
Decided to hit the off button and will watch on iPlayer, looking forward to Lulu’s performance.
