Trevor Duncan (1924-2005)
‘March’ from Trevor Duncan’s A Little Suite – used as the signature tune for BBCTV’s Doctor Finlay’s Casebook (1962-71, with Bill Simpson, Andrew Cruickshank & Barbara Mullen); Sir Vivian Dunn conducts the Light Music Society Orchestra.
Trevor Duncan also wrote The Girl from Corsica, Smile of a Latin and High Heels, the last composition being the one that launched Duncan’s career as a composer. Prior to that he was a BBC sound engineer who wrote music in his spare time.
He actually makes the second subject as interesting as the first! Clearly influenced by the Dag Wiren Serenade (from Monitor?).
